Training To Say Yes - Tim’s Success

When it comes to making the most of life, one of the most simple pleasures comes from the confidence to say YES - and more than that, the security that comes with knowing your body is up to the challenge.

To be able to say YES without fear of injury or inability is something that becomes more treasured the older we get.

As we get older, work gets busier, kids get more demanding and we naturally have a priority shift away from our own health and wellbeing.

And while this seems necessary at the time (spoiler - it’s not), the consequences both short term and long term for new and rewarding experiences with our families and friends become more limited.

When Tim came to us 18 months ago, he came with one overarching aspiration, to be able to say YES to life.

To be able to keep up with his two very active sons and have the capabilities at the drop of a hat to play Dads Football, touch rugby, or race up Mt Buffalo on his bike when challenged by friends, without fear of injury.

To be stronger, fitter, and more mobile.

Despite founding with his brother one of Australia’s fastest growing AI companies, Affinda, Tim has made an absolute commitment to his health, prioritising his training at Absolute each and every week, video training when away on holidays, and never missing a beat with his extras.

A true student of the strength game, Tim never stops learning, always driven to understand the WHY behind all the training methodologies and systems we have used that have provided Tim such incredible progress.

Within Tim’s first year, he was able to hit every one of his target physical goals and more such as:

  • Increasing his lean muscle mass and hitting his target BW, while reducing his waist measures by 4cm

  • Taking both his power and strength metrics to the peak of his age category (see graph)

  • Bench pressing his bodyweight

  • Back squatting over 100kg

  • Trap bar deadlifting 165kg and straight bar deadlifting 130kg

  • Loaded chin-ups for days!

  • Learning and developing olympic lifting skills

AND most importantly, saying YES to every physical challenge or opportunity thrown his way.

Amazing work, Tim. We know there's many more successes to come, and we’ll make sure you’re ready for the Noosa Triathlon and HYROX Melbourne events later this year!
