Individual 1 on 1 sessions provided by our Accredited Exercise Physiologists allow for a better understanding of the internal and external factors that impact your health condition so that we can implement and guide you through a safe and effective rehabilitation program.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Exercise Physiologists are university qualified health practitioners recognised by Medicare. We work with a variety of clientele that have been diagnosed with a chronic health condition.

    Our goal, through the use of exercise as our intervention, is to help you better manage your health condition.

  • We train with a range of chronic health conditions including:

    • Musculoskeletal: e.g. arthritis, osteoporosis

    • Neurological: e.g. stroke

    • Metabolic: e.g. diabetes, high blood pressure, weight management

    • Cardiopulmonary: e.g. asthma, COPD

    • Cancer recovery

    • Injury rehabilitation: e.g. sporting or workplace injuries

  • EPC (Enhanced Primary Care) or CDM (Chronic Disease Management) enables GPs to plan and coordinate the health care of patients with chronic or terminal medical conditions. This plan comes under the Medicare Benefits Scheme.

    Eligibility is determined via your GP. If eligible, you are allowed a maximum of 5 sessions to use with your allocated allied health practitioner.

  • Through the use of your EPC plan, we recommend you call our team and talk to one of our Exercise Physiologists.

    You don’t have to book an initial consultation straight away. We have our “Absolute Tour” where we have a 15 minute discussion at one of our locations to see if we are the right fit for you.

  • No. You have 1 year from the referral date to use your 5 sessions. We recommend consulting with your assigned Exercise Physiologist to see what is the best way to maximize these sessions for you.

  • We have a number of payment options that can be utilised after your EPC sessions have been used up. Exercise Physiologists are also eligible for a private health rebate (please consult your health fund to see whether Exercise Physiology is included).

  • Exercise can be one of the safest practices to undertake. Improving some exercise related outcomes e.g. getting stronger can have beneficial short and long term health outcomes. Our Exercise Physiologists will assist in providing a safe environment for you to exercise so that we can help you achieve your goal.

  • No. However, the sessions you undertake after your EPC sessions with our Exercise Physiologist are eligible for private health rebates.

  • NDIS approval for Exercise Physiology services at Absolute Health & Performance are case dependent. For more information, call our reception team and talk to one of our Accredited Exercise Physiologists.
